What Is Shave Ice?
Why shave ice not shaved ice? The name actually tells a story. The term "shave ice" traces back to 19th-century Hawaii, where Japanese immigrants introduced the art of finely shaving blocks of ice by hand, then drizzling them with sweet syrup.
This is different than carnival "snow cones" with crunchy ice chunks and artificial flavoring. Real shave ice is fluffy and is made from high-quality, fruit-based flavors. It includes delicious fruit and cream toppings that add more depth to each bite, and is friendly to all dietary restrictions.
At Tropics, we do it the Hawaiian way, and we serve anything from a backyard birthday to a 500-guest corporate event with the same passion for quality and customer service.
